Mike`s in Payson

Had the fish and chips and they were absolutely fantastic. Tarter sauce was delicious. Fries were perfect. Fish had perfect texture. Anytime I'm in Payson, I'll be paying Mike's a visit.

The fish was excellent and the portions were more than I needed to eat.

Stopped in during a day trip up to Payson. Definitely worth a try. The fish was good and my husband loved the hush puppies.

Nice little place with outdoor seating. Employees are very nice. What we had to eat was very good. Free drink refills.

Real good local fish and chips place. Never knew this place was here until we saw a sign. They have everything from fish and chips, fried oysters, fried clams, and more. . Very nice people.

We saw reviews on line and thought we would give it a try and were very happy we did. The fried oysters that were part of #2 combo were awesome, as was the fish and shrimp! A must try, combos are a good value.

Love this place. The menu is simple and the food is tasty. We ordered the huge portioned #6, which came with 5 pcs of fish, 12 pcs of fried shrimp, 2 fish tacos, 2 orders of fries and 2 med drinks for $37. Even the tartar and cocktail sauce were really good. Also ordered 2 a la cart crab cakes that were good. Everything is deep fried in batter but you do have the option to get the fish in the tacos not fried. Will definitely come back everytime i am in Payson.

Great fish & chips. Crispy coating on the fresh tasting fish, extra crispy French fries and the cole slaw is creamy and delicious. If you travel through Payson regularly, make sure this is one of your stops. You'll find yourself going back there over and over again like we do.

Great, locally owned fish restaurant with other options available, as well. Friendly staff, excellent service, and very clean. The cole slaw is the best we've ever eaten. Highly recommend this small, hometown restaurant.

I was on a road trip from Phoenix to Albuquerque and stumbled across this hole in the wall fish-n-chips joint and thought why not. Better than the normal fast food one tends to eat while road tripping. I ordered a crapcake and 2-piece fish. Man, the food was absolutely delicious. They provide tartar sauce and the fish was delicious. Crapcake wasn't bad itself but it looked like something they got out of a frozen food box.Only negative was some of the patrons weren't wearing a mask and no one was enforcing it. I ate outside on the patio to avoid people, but it looks like Payson, AZ doesn't care much about covid. I suppose that explains why AZ is such a hot-spot and experiencing such high cases.

Wonderful food! Really crispy, fish tasted very fresh, they have good tartar sauce and have malt vinegar. I love that they offer soda water, it's surprisingly hard to find. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We actually arrived a few minutes after closing time, but got great service and food.

Good stuff! Clean place, friendly workers, nice environment and the food was great. Hard to top that. Highly recommend.

Fish just melts in your mouth. Fries are incredible. If you're in payson a must try.

It was good but the kids at the counter was about as pleasant to place and order with as a badger. The fish portions are soo skimpy for what I paid I thought I was going to get a nice full basket of fish and chips and what I got was 2 peices of fish slightly bigger than golf balls. And the service was very uncomfortable and unenthusiastic. Save your money and go to Long Johns.

We stumbled on this place when travelling through Payson last year and visited again yesterday after hiking. So glad we did. The food is great!!! My husband and I both had the fish and shrimp. The batter is just right. Not too much and fried to golden perfection. The fries had the perfect crunch. The oil they fry in must be very clean. We topped it off with a nice cold beer.You can tell that the owners of this place really care about the quality of food and service. Both times we have been in here the experience has been fantastic. Stop in and give them a try.

Food was AMAZING! SUPER FRESH FISH AND sauces were wonderful. our favorite dish was the fish tacos.My only complaint- we felt that you didnt get as much fish as you should for the price. Our fish and chips came with 3 pieces of fish about the diameter of a 50 cent piece... so it seems a bit pricey although the tasty-ness is going to make me go back there again!

What a gem! The food is AMAZING! Really cute restaurant with a "marina" decor, and they also have a patio in front. Extremely nice owners/service. As I was eating, I saw a woman come back in (after eating) just to let the owners know how great the food was. This place became a must-stop every time I'm passing through.

This place has gone very down hill. Also their online prices are wrong. They charge almost double. Their service is terrible. Called health department on them also. Found bug in my food... not clean. I got it to go n didn't know of bug in food till I got home. Had I known of bug I would never accepted food. Won't be back.

Such a great little fish and chips spot! Family-run, they were so friendly and the place was super clean. Will definitely be stopping by again when we travel to the Rim!

SO GOOD!!! My fiance and I stopped here after our camping trip to Mogollon, and their shrimp is absolutely to die for. They also let us have our pups on the patio. Super nice people, seems family owned too which is awesome as I'm always down to support local businesses. Thanks for the amazing food y'all!!

The food was really fresh and cooked to perfection. I see why they have been winning awards! I had clams and couple oysters and my mom had the fish. Will be back when in the area!

First time here! Was recommended through my brother in law! And ohhhh eeehhmmmmm geeeee!! The fish and shrimp are by far the best FRESH fish and shrimp joint I have ever had! Jesus I must say it's much better than Pete's fish and chips 🙈🙉🙊. Its a must try if you are in Payson!

Stopped here while passing thru. Didn't think much of the outside and almost left again. Glad I listened to the reviews. Great fish and chips. Owner works in the kitchen and is a great guy who loves his place. Cheers and thanks for a fun meal

EVERYTHING is beer battered except for the grilled fish. This was really unfortunate for my family and I. Fries with each order were very few and the only thing I liked was the grilled fish sandwich. Truly speaking, I dont think what we paid for each order was worth it. I definitely did like the vibe though. Its is very Instagram-able. Beautiful beach/ship/fishing decor. Couldn't get over it!! I'm sure the fried fish was good, just completely thrown off by everything being beer battered. And I just didn't like the taste of the grilled fish and there wasn't an effort put into presenting it well( broken pieces)

Food and service was amazing. Everything on the menu was well priced. The cannolis were bomb. I don't live in town but will definitely make a trip to come back here.

The place is well done, food is EXCELLENT. The only thing that is keeping me from five stars is the one who took our order wasn't very friendly or helpful, but really this should be at least four and a half....it was a very satisfying, tasty meal in pleasant surroundings.

Awesome surprise in Payson, Arizona!!Our table had 4 - we had the fish, shrimp, fries, hush puppies, fried mushrooms, crab cakes....everything was cooked perfectly and the folks were super pleasant! There was a couple problems with getting our order right - but they fixed it up ASAP and were super nice!!Try the extra hot cocktail sauce!!A must eat in Payson!!

Excellant dinner tonight. We tried the fish and shimp and both we're super delicious. Always seen the place from the street and finally went in and tried it out. We will go back!

Fish was great and Fry's where outstanding. Shrimp was chewy and did not taste fresh I would not order shrimp there again. Cocktail sauce was more ketchup than anything and did not have that bite like cocktail sauce should. I would go back for the fish and chips but reluctant to try anything else.

We we heading back from woods canyon lake and needed to eat. We decided to stop her so that we could enjoy a meal with our dog in tow. The dock outside worked great to enjoy the weather and have our dog with us.We came on Tuesday so the special was shrimp and fish tacos. Exactly what was needed after a long hike at the lake. Add s basket of fries and some large drinks and we were set up for success Food came quick and was delicious. I love fish and shrimp tacos, so it doesn't take much to make me happy. The sauce on the food was good. All and all this is a great lil Joe in the wall place to dine!
